Poem by Alice Degelow
In June 2025, together with my cohort* from the Master of Education in Arts at the Piet Zwart Institute, we self-published our booklet Are We There Yet. The publication is a collaborative collection of poems, illustrations, interviews, and reflections, offering a travel guide for navigating the often challenging landscape of being an artist-educator. The project emerged from a shared desire to find a creative outlet for the frustrations we encountered during our education and professional practice. Aimed at artists, and educators, the booklet opens up space for dialogue, and recognition.

In 2024, the Campus Baumschule project was developed in collaboration with Neue Baumschule e.V., a non-profit organization committed to sustainable and solidarity-based agriculture as well as innovative ecological education. Based on the site of a former tree nursery, the space now serves as farmland, learning environment, and cultural venue. Campus Baumschule creates participatory workshop formats held on-site and tailored to different audiences — from school groups and university students to local initiatives. The aim is to creatively and playfully reimagine our relationship with the Earth and all its living beings.
As the project’s educational and artistic director, my role involves developing content, designing formats, and guiding their implementation in collaboration with the team. I focus on interdisciplinary methods, ecologically responsive knowledge-sharing, and collective learning processes.
